HISTORY OF SCIENCE
I collaborated with Nikolas Thode Jensen from the Danish National Archive. He is a senior archivist there and author of the book “For the Health of the Enslaved: slaves, medicine and power in the Danish West Indies, 1803-1848′. Niklas has published a paper on the Danish colony in South India and the establishment of the first Pharmaceutical laboratory by Samuel Benjamin Knoll. The article has appeared in SIDDEN SAXONovember 2019 issue. To read my graphic essay on the Danish Science in India before it became a British colony click here.
- “Ki kore Holo” (How did it happen): Weekly published column essaying history of experimental cell biology, biochemistry, and biophysics in vernacular (Anandabazar Patrika, Scool Edition).
- Cafe Mythbusting: This is an discussion in comics form about the genetic basis for neuropsychiatric disorders and the effect of environmental factors on them! A spat on Facebook led to an interesting discussion between four friends on mental health issues. The meandering conversation covers the possible genetic basis for a heightened risk of developing a mental health disorder, ranging from mitochondrial dysfunctions to epigenetics, and how science has just scratched the surface of this sensitive and multivariable issue. Published byThe Life of Science.
- “Scien-Tale with Grandpa”: History of Royal Society, the birth of experimental science and Robert Hooke (Weekly published in The Telegraph in School).
